Revelation 2 1 "To the angel of the church of Ephesus write, 'These things says He who
holds the seven stars in His right hand, who walks in the midst of the
seven golden lampstands: 2 "I know your works,
your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil.
And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and
have found them liars; 3 "and you have
persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and
have not become weary. 4 "Nevertheless I have
this against you, that you have left your first love. 5 "Remember therefore
from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I
will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place;
unless you repent. 6 "But this you have,
that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7 "He who has an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes
I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Dear Lord, I am sorry, I have
lost my first love for You and have become cold towards You, my Saviour
and Lord. I have heard Your voice and I repent of my folly. Other
things came into my life and stole Your place in my heart and life.
Now, I have heard Your sad and solemn words and am shaken to my core. Lord, I pray, give me back my
first love for You. I want to love You with all
my heart, soul, mind and strength, once again. Give me back the joy of
my salvation as in the beginning. I want to love You more, I want to
know You more and I want to serve You more everyday. Help
me O! Holy Spirit. Revelation 2 12 "And to the angel
of the church in 13 "I know where you
are living, where Satan's throne is. Yet you are holding fast to my
name, and you did not deny your faith in me even in the days of Antipas
my witness, my faithful one, who was killed among you, where Satan
lives. 14 But I have a few
things against you: you have some there who hold to the teaching of
Balaam, who taught Balak to put a stumbling block before the people of
Israel, so that they would eat food sacrificed to idols and practice
fornication. 15 So you also have
some who hold to the teaching of the Nicolaitans. 16 Repent
then. If not, I will come to you soon and make war against them with
the sword of my mouth. 17 Let anyone who has
an ear listen to what the Spirit is saying to the churches. To everyone who conquers I will give some of
the hidden manna, and I will give a white stone, and on the white stone
is written a new name that no one knows except the one who receives it. Revelation 2 18 "And to the angel
of the church in Thyatira write, 'These things says
the Son of God, who has eyes like a flame of fire, and His feet like
fine brass: 19 "I know your works,
love, service, faith, and your patience; and as for your works, the
last are more than the first. 20 "Nevertheless
I have a few things against you, because you allow that woman Jezebel,
who calls herself a prophetess, to teach and seduce My servants to
commit sexual immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. 21 "And I gave her
time to repent of her sexual immorality, and she did not repent. 22 "Indeed I will cast
her into a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her into great
tribulation, unless they repent of their deeds. 23 "I will kill her
children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who
searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you
according to your works. 24 "Now to you I say,
and to the rest in Thyatira, as many as do not have this doctrine, who
have not known the depths of Satan, as they say, I will put on you no
other burden. 25 "But hold fast what
you have till I come. 26 "And he who
overcomes, and keeps My works until the end, to him I will give power
over the nations; 27 'He shall rule them
with a rod of iron; They shall be dashed to pieces like the potter's
vessels'; as I also have received from My Father; 28 "and I will give
him the morning star. 29 "He who has an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."' Dear Lord, You have warned me
against the sin of immorality and adultery – the sin of Balaam! Lord, let me know the subtlety of sexual sin and how
easily I can fall into its trap and be lost spiritually and physically
too! Help me to repent and forsake
immorality in every form, especially in these days of pornography
through the net. Restore my first love for You that I will forsake all
these sins that separate me from You. Revelation 3 1 "And to the angel of the church in 2 "Be watchful, and
strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die, for I have
not found your works perfect before God. 3 "Remember therefore
how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you
will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know
what hour I will come upon you. 4 "You have a few
names even in 5 "He who overcomes
shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name
from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and
before His angels. 6 "He who has an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."' Dear Lord, I am sorry that I did
not tend to my spirit as I should. I had
slackened in my walk with You, in reading Your Word, prayer and in the
gathering of saints. I have become weak and
almost dead in my spirit and soul. Forgive me Lord. Awaken me by Your Spirit and
revive me once again so that my weakened faith will not die out. You have warned me that You will blot out my name
from the Book of life unless I restore my relationship with You as in
the beginning. Let me hear You and act on Your
warning and save my soul from perishing in eternity. Revelation 3 14 "And to the angel
of the church of the Laodiceans write, 'These things
says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the
creation of God: 15 "I
know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you
were cold or hot. 16 "So then, because
you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My
mouth. 17 "Because you say,
'I am rich, have become wealthy, and have need of nothing'; and do not
know that you are wretched, miserable, poor, blind, and naked; 18 "I counsel you to
buy from Me gold refined in the fire, that you may be rich; and white
garments, that you may be clothed, that the shame of your nakedness may
not be revealed; and anoint your eyes with eye salve, that you may see. 19 "As
many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent. 20 "Behold, I stand at
the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will
come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me. 21 "To him who
overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame
and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 "He who has an ear,
let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."' " Dear Lord, I am sorry for I have
become lukewarm in my spiritual life. The cares
and worries of this world, the lure of riches and the pleasures of lust
have drawn me away from You. I was so immersed
in the world and even sin that I lost my warmth of love for You, Your
Word, prayer and service and the fellowship of the saints. Let Your fire fall on me and cause me to burn again with love for You. Awaken me by Your Spirit and revive me spiritually so that I will once again be warm and burring and shining for You. Thank You Lord for standing at my
heart’s door and keep knocking all this while. Thank
You for speaking to me and warning me. Help me
to hear You, open my heat and let You in once again and make You my
Lord, Master and king. Hebrews 6 4 It is impossible for
those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly
gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5 who have tasted the
goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, 6 if they fall away,
to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are
crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public
disgrace. 7 Land that drinks in
the rain often falling on it and that produces a crop useful to those
for whom it is farmed receives the blessing of God. 8 But land that
produces thorns and thistles is worthless and is in danger of being
cursed. In the end it will be burned. 11 We want each of you
to show this same diligence to the very end, in order to make your hope
sure. 12 We do not want you
to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience
inherit what has been promised. Dear Lord, I am sorry for my
backsliding from faith, little by little. I
admit that I have lost my first love for You. I admit that I kept
myself busy with everything else less important and of this world and
neglected reading Your Word and Praying to You. I shudder at Your warning,
“It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who
have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who
have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the
coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance,
because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again
and subjecting him to public disgrace”. Lord, my sin has been too
grievous and great. Please forgive me in Your
mercy and grace, because of Your Son, whom I am sorry I was crucifying
again! God, be merciful to me a sinner. Let Your Hoy Spirit restore and revive me in my
spirit. I pray You do the impossible in me. I plead in Jesus’ name. Hebrews 10 26 If we deliberately
keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no
sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful
expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the
enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected
the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three
witnesses. 29 How much more
severely do you think a man deserves to be punished who has trampled
the Son of God under foot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood
of the covenant that sanctified him, and who has insulted the Spirit of
grace? 30 For we know him who
said, "It is mine to avenge; I will repay," and again, "The Lord will
judge his people." 31 It is a dreadful
thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Dear God, let me not deliberately
keep sinning after I have received the knowledge of the truth, for
there is no sacrifice for sins is left, but only
a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume
all those who sin against You. I am sorry Lord, I have sinned
against You and trampled under foot Your Son and treated His blood as
an unholy thing and insulted the Spirit of grace. I know “The
Lord will judge his people." I realise that it
is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Forgive me O! God, in Your great
mercy. I took my sin lightly not realising the
seriousness. Wash me and cleanse me by the
precious blood of Jesus Christ Your Son and my Saviour. Psalm 51 10 Create in me a pure
heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. 11 Do not cast me from
your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me. 12 Restore to me the
joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to sustain me. Yes! O! Lord, do it in me, I
pray. |
