Psalm 121 1 A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to
the hills-- where does my help come from? 2 My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and
earth. 3 He will not let your foot slip-- he who watches over
you will not slumber; 4 indeed, he who watches over 5 The LORD watches over you-- the LORD is your shade
at your right hand; 6 the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by
night. 7 The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch
over your life; 8 the LORD will watch over your coming and going both
now and forevermore. Dear God, as I face my crisis in life, this psalm is
so comforting and encouraging to me. It is so
wonderful to know that my help comes from You who created
not only me but the heavens and the
earth and the sea and all that are in it. So great and marvellous is
Your wisdom and power. It is such a small thing
to You to help me out of my predicament and save me. I thank that You watch over me
day and night. No time are You asleep and do not know what is happening
to me. How great it is to know that You are my shade (refuge and
protection) and You will keep me from all harm always! How
I thank You O! God that You have promised to watch over my life and
preserve it! It takes away all my fears and give
me courage and peace. I thank You for giving me
the promise even to watch over going out and coming and keep me safe
everyday. Psalm 116 1 I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry
for mercy. 2 Because he turned his ear to me,
I will call on him as long as I live. 3 The cords of death entangled me,
the anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and
sorrow. 4 Then I called on the name of the
LORD: "O LORD, save me!" 5 The LORD is gracious and
righteous; our God is full of compassion. 6 The LORD protects the
simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me. 7 Be at rest once more, O my soul,
for the LORD has been good to you. 8 For you, O LORD, have delivered
my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, 9 that I may walk before the LORD
in the land of the living. 10 I believed; therefore I said, "I am greatly
afflicted." 12 How can I repay the LORD for
all his goodness to me? 13 I will lift up the cup of
salvation and call on the name of the LORD. 14 I will fulfill my vows to the
LORD in the presence of all his people. 15 Precious in the sight of the
LORD is the death of his saints. 16 O LORD, truly I am your
servant; I am your servant, the son of your maidservant ; you have
freed me from my chains. 17 I will sacrifice a thank
offering to you and call on the name of the LORD. 18 I will fulfill my vows to the
LORD in the presence of all his people, 19 in the courts of the house of
the LORD-- in your midst, O Dear Lord, I love
You, for You have heard my voice; You have heard my cry for mercy. Because You turned to me, I will call on You as long
as I live. The cords of death entangled me, the
anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorrow. Then I called on Your name: "O LORD, save me!" O! LORD, You are
gracious and righteous; You are a God full of compassion. You protect
the simple-hearted; when I was in great need, You saved me. My soul will be at rest once more, for the LORD has
been good to me. You, O LORD, have delivered my soul from death, my
eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling, that I
may walk before the LORD in the land of the living. I thank You Lord
and trust in You alone. Psalm 118 5 In my anguish I cried to the LORD, and he answered
by setting me free. 6 The LORD is with me; I will not be afraid. What can
man do to me? 7 The LORD is with me; he is my helper. Dear Lord God, I cry to You for
help. I am afraid. But I thank Your for the
promise that “You are my Helper and there is none other!”.
I trust in You. Help me and deliver me. Luke 8 22 One day Jesus said
to his disciples, "Let's go over to the other side of the lake." So
they got into a boat and set out. 23 As they sailed, he
fell asleep. A squall came down on the lake, so that the boat was being
swamped, and they were in great danger. 24 The disciples went
and woke him, saying, "Master, Master, we're going to drown!" He got up
and rebuked the wind and the raging waters; the storm subsided, and all
was calm. 25 "Where is your faith?" he asked his disciples. In
fear and amazement they asked one another, "Who is this? He commands
even the winds and the water, and they obey him." Dear Lord, I thank You for You
are the Master of the wind and the waves and the storms of the nature. They obey Your voice. I have
nothing to fear when I have made You my Master and You have made me
Your child. You have said, "Never will I leave you; never will I
forsake you." ( Heb 13.5) You never will. So I trust in You. Matthew 6 25 "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life,
what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is
not life more important than food, and the body more important than
clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or
reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his
life ? 28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the
lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his
splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field,
which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not
much more clothe you, O you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or
'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your
heavenly Father knows that you need them. Dear Lord Jesus, I thank You for
teaching me not to worry about my daily needs. You
have proved to me that if my heavenly Father can feed the millions and billions of birds in the air and clothe the all the flowers in every
field in all the world so beautifully, You could easily take care of my needs. Help me to stop worrying as You have taught
me and simply keep on trusting my Heavenly Father even in difficult
times. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness,
and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow
will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Thank You dear Lord, for teaching
me the fact of life that each day will surely have its own trouble and
all have to face them in their stride. But how wonderful it is to know
that I could face them all with the help of my Father God, for He knows
my every need and is able to help me out. Only teach me and help me to seek
first Your kingdom and do what is right as Jesus Christ has taught me. Help me to set Your kingdom and righteousness first
before even my own daily needs. Only then could I hope to receive God’s care and
blessings.
16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with
confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in
our time of need. Dear God, I thank You for you
have encouraged me to approach Your throne of grace, for You a have
promised that I will find help in my times of need. Help
me to run to You always and for every need and find You faithful and
true. 2 Corinthians 1 3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may
be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with
which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as the sufferings of Christ abound in us, so our
consolation also abounds through Christ. 6 Now if we are afflicted, it is for your consolation
and salvation, which is effective for enduring the same sufferings
which we also suffer. Or if we are comforted, it is for your
consolation and salvation. 7 And our hope for you is steadfast, because we know
that as you are partakers of the sufferings, so also you will partake
of the consolation. 8 For we do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, of
our trouble which came to us in 9 Yes, we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that
we should not trust in ourselves but in God who raises the dead, 10 who delivered us from so great a death, and does
deliver us; in whom we trust that He will still deliver us, 11 you also helping together in prayer for us, that
thanks may be given by many persons on our behalf for the gift granted
to us through many. 12 For our boasting is this: the testimony of our
conscience that we conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and
godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and
more abundantly toward you. 13 For we are not writing any other things to you than
what you read or understand. Now I trust you will understand, even to
the end. Dear God, You are the God of all
comfort who comforts me in all my troubles and distresses and crises in
life! The apostle Paul suffered so much and yet
he said that in all his troubles God comforted him. I
know that You are the same God who will do the same for me too. If Paul, a great apostle had to
go through so many troubles while serving You, I too cannot escape the
world's trials and distresses. But I thank You for You are able to
deliver and save me or take me through all my troubles. Help
me to hang on and keep trusting in You. Amen.
