Psalm 55

22 Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall.

Dear Lord, don’t let the righteous fall as You have promised. Watch over me and let your angels carry me in their hands.

1 Peter 5

7 Cast all your anxiety on the Lord because he cares for you.

Dear God, I am full of cares - worries necessary and unnecessary, because of my great needs and many problems. I find life difficult and even impossible. I get discouraged and depressed and even sick of life. You have taught me to ‘cast all my cares on You for You will sustain me’.

But I can’t do it and I don’t even know how to do it. Let Your Spirit help to do it. Let Him take away all my anxieties. Grant me Your peace in my troubled heart, peace that is beyond my understanding (I don’t even know ‘how I get it!), which You have promised.

Matthew 6

25 Jesus said, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes?

26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?

27 Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ?

28 "And why do you worry about clothes? See how the lilies of the field grow. They do not labor or spin.

29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.

30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?

31 So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?'

32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Dear God, I am worried about the things I lack and those things I greatly need. It is natural that I am anxious, You know it. But You have taught me not to worry. You said that my Heavenly Father knows what I need. He reminded me that ‘ God is the one who feeds the millions and billions of birds in the air and beautifully made the flowers in the endless fields. The same God and Father has made me too, knows all about me and my every need’. Jesus promised that all the things I need in life will be given to me by my Father in heaven.

So help me Lord not to be anxious anymore but tell God my needs (He knows before I tell anyway!,) for like all fathers He likes me to tell Him as His child.

Dear Lord, just as You have said, ‘there is no point in worrying about tomorrow for surely every day will have one problem or another’. I will only destroy my health and peace of mind and die! Instead, Lord help me to take each day’s trouble to You and let You help me out!
